The Alex Livingston Scholarship Fund

Alex “Livi” Livingston was a compassionate, bright, funny, athletic young man who passed away too soon, in June 2016, after a valiant two-year battle with cancer. He touched more lives in his short 29 years than most do in a full lifetime. Alex was a devoted husband, loving son, model brother, and loyal friend.

Alex graduated with a BA in English, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania and received his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Livi was a natural leader who exemplified a hard work ethic. This was evident in his four year varsity tennis career as captain and all-state doubles player, high school graduation commencement speaker, president of his college stand-up comedy troupe, two-time Color War general at Camp Lenox, section officer at Harvard – the list goes on!

Alex’s lifelong dream was to open and run his very own summer camp in order to pass along his passion to future generations. When he attended an entrepreneurship conference, he was asked to write down his goals:

“I want to help kids reach their full potential by owning and operating a summer camp that helps kids grow and develop skills they can’t learn in the classroom. The camp will instill children with confidence, independence, sportsmanship, camaraderie, and respect in a fun, safe environment.”

That’s what Alex learned as a camper and what he had hoped to teach others.
